Reflection Narrative and Digital Sci-Fi Story
I really love writing. I think it is a very clear way to express hidden feelings. When I was told we had a writing assignment I got really excited because writing is one of the things I do best. For my narrative named "Roxy", I had to do a lot of work, first because I have so much ideas, and developing them was hard, and second of all, because I couldn't find an appropriate ending. For the process of writing I had to follow 5 steps that led me into publishing my writing. First I had to learn about science fiction narratives and I did that by taking notes and searching in class. Then I brainstormed, which was very hard. All of these ideas kept coming to me and I really didn't know how to place them together and which ones to forget and which ones to develop. I began writing on my iPad and let all of my ideas flow, creating paragraphs and sentences to express my ideas. I had two people peer edit my story, and then I made all of the corrections and things that these people suggested. After that I finally finished my story and afterwards, I printed it. For the digital narrative that is the process of turning the written story into a digital form, I also had to do many things. First I had to download many applications, for I didn't know how or with what to develop the digital part. I had to learn how to use all of the applications and choose one that suited my needs for the project. I took pictures of my neighborhood and used some pictures of previous trips to start with the process. I had to work hard to appropriately manage the app, but in the end, it was very easy to create the whole thing. I then used PowToon, a very incredible app that helped me do the animated part, I also used iMovie to produce the sound effects and finally I uploaded the final product to YouTube.
The similarities between the narrative and the digital are that for both I had to brainstorm ideas and think particularly hard to create everything. Both also took a huge amount of work and time. Finally I did both of them on my iPad. There were also differences, for instance, the applications I used to develop both projects. I used a writing and typing page for the narrative, and used a 3D illustrator for the digital story. I also had to search for different things; in the narrative for locations, word choice, synonyms, and definitions, and for the digital, I had to search how to work the apps, because it was really, really hard.
For the narrative writing, one of the most difficult things to do was the ending. It was exhausting finding an appropriate ending to my story. I have always been bad at endings because I just run out of ideas and it becomes impossible for me to write a good ending. My story started out really strong, and I don't believe in the fact of having a lousy ending so I really had to focus to get a powerful ending as well. I wanted the story to go from good to great. The connection between ideas was also a big difficulty. I had all of these amazing ideas, some related to the topic, some that were just random, but I wanted to use them all so finding a way to place them all accordingly was tough. One of the biggest pleasures was when the writing just flowed, and the words kept on coming to me. The writing itself was very enjoyable because it is something that I like doing. For the digital narrative there were also some parts that were specifically hard. For instance, choosing and learning how each application worked was excruciating. PowToon was a very difficult to use because the free version only allowed a 5 minute screen play, and my story just didn't fit. I took away some parts that were not that important and it ended up being 10 minutes long. The only pleasure there was, was seeing the project uploaded and finished, I felt so, so, so relieved. All of this process actually taught me something and the lesson I learned is that I have to be more patient and stop procrastinating so much. Also the project was very fun and entertaining to do.

FRIENDSHIP SONNET
Having amazing friends is really hard
Telling real from fake is not always fun.
So I decided I will always guard
What friendship I have sometimes on the run.
And even when we get into a fight
I keep on loving them with all my heart.
Different we are, friendship makes it right.
How would my life be if we were apart?
I can´t help but laugh when we are together
All moments we share I´ll always cherish
Hope we can stay together forever
So that our friendship will never perish.
And although they were really hard to find
Our faith got us truly intertwined.
AUTHORS STATEMENT
I wrote this sonnet about my friends because they are the thing that makes me complete, they are amazing people and I love them very much. They have helped me through everything and even when we have problems we are able to work them out. I just think that they are one of the most important people in my life and in this sonnet you can actually see how much I appreciate them and how much I card about them.
